Looking ahead

We have ambitious expansion plans which will build on our experience in New Orleans and now in Kansas City. In the school year of 2011/12, Leading Educators expects to expand into two new sites, with a further three or more to follow next academic year.

By 2016, Leading Educators intends to be working in at least 12 regions across the US and to have trained over 500 mid-level teachers to spearhead change. In the process, these teachers, and the colleagues they mentor, will benefit the education of nearly 100,000 pupils in high-needs urban schools. 

As well as training teachers, Leading Educators plans to broaden its impact by encouraging other organisations to adopt its leadership approach. Starting in 2012, Leading Educators will offer on-demand training assistance to struggling schools and regional education authorities. This additional revenue stream will help ensure the sustainability of the program once ARK funding ceases in 2013.
